Reliably track and compactly move solar modules.

In solar trackers, slewing drives handle the controlled adjustment of the module surface. This allows the modules to follow the position of the sun, while the slewing drive simultaneously combines bearing, gearbox, and drive interface into a single compact unit.

Particularly important are a robust design for outdoor use, sufficient self-locking or holding torque under wind loads, a suitable gear ratio, and reliable feedback of the movement. For these applications, 24V motors with an integrated Hall sensor can represent a practical solution.

Single-axis solar trackers

In single-axis tracker systems, the module surface is tracked via a main axis. The slewing drive performs the rotational movement and, depending on the design, can be a compact alternative to linear drives or separate bearing/gearbox solutions.

Thanks to the 24V drive, the solution is particularly suited for decentralized system concepts. The integrated Hall sensor can be used for motion feedback and supports integration into the tracker's control system.

Dual-axis solar trackers

Dual-axis tracking systems place higher demands on mechanics and drive technology, as the module surface is aligned in two directions. Two slewing drives or a combination of a slewing drive and an additional adjustment unit can be used here. We also offer slewing drives with two integrated axes. These are available upon request.

The decisive factors are the occurring wind loads, the weight of the module surface, the desired range of motion, and the interface to the control system. ATH Technik assists in selecting a suitable drive solution.

For solar trackers, compact drive units with simple electrical connections are particularly interesting. 24V motors can be easily integrated into decentralized control systems. An integrated Hall sensor can provide pulses for motion detection and thus support the tracking of the system.
