Slew Drives

From standard sizes to heavy-duty custom solutions

Worm-driven slewing drives combine a heavy-duty slewing ring, one or more worm shafts, and a robust housing into a compact unit. In addition to the standard series shown in the online shop, ATH Technik also offers project-specific heavy-duty slewing drives for particularly high loads and torques.

Up to 1,600 kNm Maximum tilting moment depending on the series and configuration
Up to 170 kNm Maximum output torque for heavy-duty models
Standard and Custom Solutions additional sizes outside the displayed shopping range
Hydraulic or electric 24 V, 400 V, servo drive, or hydraulic motor

The maximum values listed refer to different versions and may not necessarily be compatible with one another in a single model .

Note on self-locking: Depending on the gear ratio, the worm gear may act as a self-locking mechanism. This feature does not replace a safety-critical brake or separate holding device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Products and system solutions from ATH Technik

What products does ATH Technik offer?

The portfolio includes large-diameter bearings, slewing rings, turntable bearings, slewing drives, hydraulic motors, electric gear motors, linear systems, and customized drive systems.

What performance values do the slewing drives achieve?

In addition to the standard product lines shown in the online shop, ATH Technik also offers project-specific heavy-duty slewing drives. Depending on the design, tilting moments of up to 1,600 kNm and output torques of up to 170 kNm are possible. The maximum values refer to different designs and are not necessarily combined in a single model.

Does ATH Technik supply complete slewing drive systems?

Yes. Slewing drive, motorization, brake, position measurement, and control system can be designed and supplied as a coordinated system.

What information is required for the technical design?

Important factors include weight, center of gravity, mounting position, axial and radial load, tilting moment, desired speed, duty cycle, and required angular positions.
